Source 1:
- I think the event is the storming of the Bastille and the message is to treat everyone fairly
- These people are the peasants (third estate also)
- Doing this because the prices and taxes are too high
- They want to be treated fairly
- About to storm the prison
- People are fighting for what they want and getting killed for it
Source 2:
- I think this event here is the French Revolution and the message is that the peasants are fighting for what they believe should happen – to be treated equally
- I think that’s the peasants holding up the French flag saying that everyone should be equal
- There are dead people lying below the peasants
- People holding weapons up
- Holding up the flag being proud of being them
-
Its not just the guys fighting - girls also
Source 3:
- I think these are the three estates,
- The clergy, the nobility and the peasants (third estate)
- It looks like they’re trying to destroy something
- Hammering a book maybe?
- Maybe in the reign of terror period? when everything was destructive
- The message is that they can all work together to do something – equality
Source 4:
- This is representing the richer people and the poorer people
- I think this is the event of before the Revolution when upper classes got everything
- poorer people weren't being treated fairly and they were starving and taking anything they could
- The richer people or upper classes have more than they need and are still unhappy
- The poorer people or peasants don’t have enough - starving
- The message is that some people have more than they need but are still unhappy and others don’t have enough but are happy with what they have
